Preview Feb Show Special Exhibition: ‘The Beatles Made Me Do It: When Psychedelic Became Fashion!’

In 1967, with The Beatles albums Magical Mystery Tour and Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, as well as the opening of their retail boutique on Baker St. in London called The Apple, psychedelic became fashion!
To help create the Apple boutique clothing and experience, The Beatles hired a Dutch design collective called The Fool, who had been, in the previous months, making clothing and designing for The Beatles as well as other bands including Cream and the Hollies. The Fool's designs for the boutique included a looser fit, prints on prints and bright colors mixed with other bright colors, outer space and African motifs, as well as flared sleeves and pants.
At the upcoming February 1st & 2nd Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show, the special exhibition will feature this psychedelic fashion that was brought to the mainstream by the unrelenting popularity of The Beatles!
